Essential oils
Essential oils are volatile oils that are extracted from various parts of a plant, for example the blossom, the fruit, the seed, the leaves, the bark or the wood (from the trunk, branches or roots). The different parts of a plant sometimes contain various essential oils. The majority of essential oils are extracted using vapour distillation. The essential oils of citrus fruits are an exception to this because these are extracted by cold pressing the fruits.
